A Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft on a flight from Vladivostok to Blagoveshchensk made an emergency landing at Khabarovsk Airport after a part of the casing of the French-Russian SaM-146 engine tore off mid-flight. There were 90 people on board, no one was injured.
The Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's Office clarified that the landing was normal. The agency monitored the organization of work of airport services.
The Primorsky Transport Prosecutor's Office will assess the technical services of Vladivostok Airport in preparing the vessel for departure to its destination.
As a reminder, Sukhoi Superjet 100s with SaM-146 engines currently fly on regular flights in Russia, which can be remotorized with domestic PD-8 power units. Aviation expert Roman Gusarov previously said that such a procedure will result in large expenses for operators.
It is known that research and development work on replacing SaM146 with PD-8 on manufactured Superjet 100 aircraft will be financed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Specific deadlines for the start of the project have not yet been determined.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the manufacturer of Be-200 amphibians with PD-8 will hide reporting amid huge losses.
