The departure of the first international cargo train from Russia to Iran has become a significant milestone in the development of logistics services of the North - South transport corridor. The train traveled from the Northern Railway range along the eastern route of the corridor, spending 13 days on the way, and delivered 62 forty-foot containers with sulphate pulp to the Aprin dry port.
RZD Logistics, acting as the nominated operator of the RZD holding in this direction, is actively developing the eastern direction passing through the territory of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, which provides direct railway communication with Iran.
This shipment is a practical implementation of our strategic course to form and test new logistics routes and develop regular services based on the North-South ITC. We see a growing interest from customers in this direction and are ready to offer them reliable and technological solutions in export, import and transit directions.
It should be noted that since May of this year, Aprin has been a modern multimodal logistics hub located at the intersection of the Iranian railway corridors East-West and North-South.
