The first photo of the newest Russian nuclear submarine "Khabarovsk" of project 09851 in the "Sukhona" floating workshop of the "Sevmash" enterprise in Severodvinsk has appeared online. Apparently, the ship is being prepared for its first launch.
From the photo, one can estimate the approximate dimensions of the "Khabarovsk". The approximate length of the nuclear submarine is 135-140 m, width is about 13.5 m. This generally corresponds to the estimates for project 09851, which is attributed to thenew generation of special-purpose nuclear submarines.
As a reminder, the official ceremony of taking the "Khabarovsk" submarine cruiser out of workshop No. 50 of "Sevmash" took place on November 1, 2025. Now, the first independent visual confirmation of the submarine's readiness for launch has appeared.
The "Khabarovsk" was built on the basis of solutions from project 955 "Borei", but it has a different configuration of the bow. Military experts claim that it can carryseveral underwater torpedoes of the "Poseidon" type at once.
