In the upcoming 2025-2026 winter navigation season, 34 icebreakers of FSUE "Rosmorport" will ensure accessibility to 16 freezing seaports of the country in accordance with the ship deployment plan approved by Rosmorrechflot after a meeting between the head of the federal agency, Andrey Tarasenko, with the general director of the enterprise, Sergey Pylyin, and heads of port administrations.
In the waters of seaports located in the Gulf of Finland, the Azov, Caspian, Kara, White, and Okhotsk Seas, and on approaches to them, icebreakers will carry out ship piloting, ensuring accessibility.
The enterprise will prepare port icebreakers for navigation by November 1 before the start of the winter period, linear icebreakers by December 1, and icebreakers for the Azov basin by November 15. Overview ice maps and forecasts for the basins will be provided by hydrometeorological centers.
12 icebreakers will be involved in the Gulf of Finland: "Kapitan Sorokin", "Mudyug", "Semyon Dezhnev", "Kapitan Kosolapov", "Kapitan Zarubin" will be sent to the seaport of Big Port St. Petersburg. "Viktor Chernomyrdin" will take over icebreaker support for the approach fairways and the water area of the seaport of Primorsk. "Vladivostok", "Kapitan M. Izmailov" and "Ivan Kruzenstern" will ensure accessibility of the seaports of Vysotsk and Vyborg, and "Kapitan Nikolaev" and "Kapitan Plakhin" will ensure accessibility of the seaport of Ust-Luga. The icebreaker "Krasin" will remain in reserve for work in the Baltic.
In the seaports of the Azov Sea — Taganrog, Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Yeysk — ship piloting will be carried out by "Kapitan Demidov", "Kapitan Moshkin", "Kapitan Chudinov", "Kapitan Krutov", "Fanagoria", and "Georgy Sedov". Some of the icebreakers may be involved in the seaports of Kavkaz and Temryuk.
On the Volga-Caspian Sea Shipping Canal and in the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya, ice operations will be carried out by "Kapitan Chechkin", "Kapitan Bukaev", and "Kapitan Metsaik", and these vessels will also participate in the development of ferry crossing leads in the Bakhtemir and Starovolzhsky branches.
4 icebreakers will serve the waters of the White Sea. "Dikson" will be on duty in the waters of the seaports of Arkhangelsk and Kandalaksha, and "Kapitan Evdokimov", "Kapitan Chadaev", and "Avraamiy Zavenyagin" will be on the section from the Mudyugsky receiving buoy to the seaport of Arkhangelsk. In the spring, the ships of the White Sea group, if necessary, may take part in flood control measures in the congestion-prone areas of the Northern Dvina River to prevent flooding of the surrounding settlements.
Beyond the Arctic Circle, "Novorossiysk", "Tor", and "Pomor" will be operated in the seaport of Sabetta. Also, "Murmansk" will arrive in the Arctic to carry out piloting along the Northern Sea Route.
In the Far East, uninterrupted navigation in the Sea of Okhotsk will be guaranteed by 5 icebreakers of FSUE "Rosmorport". The icebreakers "Magadan", "Kapitan Khlebnikov", "Kapitan Dranitsyn", and "St. Petersburg" will operate in the seaport of Vanino. The latter can be involved in piloting ships on approaches to the seaport of De-Kastri. The icebreaker "Moscow" will ensure accessibility of the seaport of Magadan.
