Egyptian NPP "El Dabaa" Received Over 50 Russian Asynchronous Electric Motors

The equipment will be integrated into the electric pump units of the station's four power units

The Russian company "SpetsAtomResource" has completed the delivery of more than 50 asynchronous electric motors for the El Dabaa NPP under construction in Egypt. The units are designed to equip critical systems of the nuclear power plant.

The electric motors comply with safety class 3 and are suitable for systems responsible for the safe shutdown and cooldown of the reactor (the process of cooling a nuclear reactor to a temperature that allows for repairs and maintenance). The Russian equipment will be installed in the electric pump units of power units No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 of the NPP. These pumps provide coolant circulation and emergency cooling.

"SpetsAtomResource" is a Moscow-based company that carries out engineering projects for nuclear power facilities. Its specialists develop and modernize thermal-mechanical equipment for nuclear power plants. The company is not part of the Rosatom State Corporation.

Construction of the El Dabaa NPP began in 2022. It involves the construction of four power units with VVER-1200 reactors. The station will be commissioned in 2028. The project is being implemented under the control of Rosatom.
