India is in talks with Russia to purchase additional anti-aircraft missiles for the S-400 complex, as well as the possibility of its production in the country. In addition, New Delhi is showing interest in Russian advanced S-500 systems and other advanced technologies. This is reported by the Indian news agency ANI.
The contract amount may be about 1.2 billion dollars. The new purchases will be a continuation of the 2018 contract, when New Delhi acquired five regiments of Russian SAM systems, and will also pave the way for the introduction of promising S-500 systems and the modernization of BrahMos supersonic missiles.
It is emphasized that the decision on additional purchases is due to the effectiveness of the S-400, demonstrated during Operation Sindur. Indian authorities have previously noted the key role of Russian S-400 systems in the recent conflict with Islamabad.
It is noted that now the issue of additional deliveries may depend on the fact that Russia itself needs air defense systems.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the first photos of a new version of the Russian high-explosive air bomb with UMPC with a range of up to 200 km have appeared.
