Жатайская судоверфь спустила на воду паром для перевозки сельскохозяйственной техники

New ferry can be converted into a self-propelled vessel

The first vessel was launched at the Zhatay Shipyard. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Yakutia.

The new vessel has a carrying capacity of 40 tons, a length of almost 20 meters, a width of 6 meters, and a draft of just over half a meter. The design of the ferry allows it to be easily converted into a self-propelled vessel. The ferry will be used to transport agricultural machinery. The vessel is scheduled to be delivered to the customer by the end of 2025.

The shipyard plans to build similar vessels for other municipalities in Yakutia. This will help ensure uninterrupted communication and promote the development of infrastructure throughout the republic.

The construction of the shipyard began in 2019. However, the hull production workshop only started operating at the end of April 2025.

The Zhatay Shipyard will create a modern river fleet for cargo transportation in the Lena basin and the Arctic zone, including routes along the Northern Sea Route. By 2036, the shipyard plans to build about 100 river vessels, and the area of the facility is 20 thousand square meters.
