На базе российского «Спрут-СДМ1»: в Индии представили лёгкий плавающий танк под названием Bharat

Танк оснастили 125-мм гладкоствольной пушкой, выступающей одной из модификаций российской танковой пушки 2А46

Against the backdrop of the "Make In India" program, the Indian company AVNL has presented its new light tank called Bharat to the public. It is important to note that the combat vehicle is a licensed production of a well-known Russian model - the "Sprut-SDM1".

Bharat is almost identical to the Russian "Sprut-SDM1" in terms of its tactical and technical characteristics.

The tank is equipped with a 125-mm smoothbore gun, which is a modification of the Russian 2A46 tank gun, and allows it to effectively engage both armored targets and fortified enemy positions. The modern fire control system ensures high accuracy of fire in all conditions, whether day or night, as well as in difficult weather conditions.

The Bharat light tank is designed to support infantry, conduct reconnaissance and destroy enemy equipment in mountainous terrain, deserts and other difficult areas. Its light weight and compact size allow it to be transported by military transport aircraft, which significantly expands the possibilities of operational use.

2S25 "Sprut-SD" is a Russian airborne self-propelled anti-tank gun, a light amphibious tank. It is designed to combat tanks and other armored vehicles and enemy personnel as part of airborne and marine units.

Technical characteristics of "Sprut-SDM1":

  • Combat weight - 18 tons, with a set of additional armor - up to 20 tons.
  • Maximum speed on the highway - 70 km/h.
  • Speed afloat - up to 7.5 km/h thanks to water jet propulsion.
  • Cruising range on the highway - 500 km.
  • Crew - 3 people: driver-mechanic, commander and gunner-operator.
