The development of the biometric boarding service "Migom" is nearing completion in Russia. Special scanners with software have been installed at Pulkovo Airport, according to the press service of the Russian government.
The readiness of the service was assessed by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko during a working visit to the Leningrad Region. The government official noted that Russians are increasingly using biometrics to pay for travel and receive services online. The demand for such identification is growing, he added.
The "Migom" service will greatly simplify the passage of all pre-flight procedures. Passengers will not need to present documents when checking in for domestic flights, passing into the "sterile zone", or when boarding.
Testing of "Migom" on a limited group of passengers will begin in 2026. Pulkovo Airport has become the site for the pilot project.
The service is implemented on the basis of the state unified biometric system. To use it, you will need to register your data in advance and consent to the use of biometrics when boarding
Despite the introduction of new methods of identification, passengers will be able to choose how they will go through pre-flight procedures: by passport or biometrics.
