KhaDm, a former AvtoVAZ staff engineer and well-known insider, reported that since April 19 (the start date of Lada Iskra production), the company has produced only about 1,000 vehicles. This figure is far from the 20-30 thousand by the end of 2025 announced by Oleg Grunenkov, the product director of the concern, at the open test drive of the Lada Iskra.
Producing 200 cars per month can hardly be called mass production, but it should speed up.
From next week, VAZ should be consistently producing 100+ cars per week
However, even with a production volume of 100 or even 150 cars per week, no more than 2,000 cars can be assembled in the remaining 13 weeks of 2025, which is still extremely far from even the later announced plans of 10-15 thousand by the end of the year.
Lada Iskra is a new model from AvtoVAZ, occupying the niche between Lada Granta and Lada Vesta. The car is equipped with 1.6-liter engines with a capacity of 90 and 106 hp, paired with a 5 or 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT. The price of Lada Iskra ranges from 1.25 to 1.8 million rubles, depending on the configuration.
