BI.ZONE has announced the acquisition of the Russian antivirus technology developer NANO Security. The deal will allow the company to obtain its own antivirus engine and enter the retail solutions market for the first time. The engine will primarily be integrated into BI.ZONE's corporate product — EDR for endpoint protection, and then a unified EPP platform will be created, available for both businesses and home users.
The advantage of our deal is that we will be able to integrate the antivirus engine into several areas at once — from email protection and firewalls to sandbox solutions
Experts estimate the deal's value to be in the range of 15 to 100 million rubles, but note that NANO Security as a brand is little known to the mass user, which means that the company will have to invest in promotion. At the same time, the acquisition strengthens BI.ZONE's position in the antivirus protection segment, where the Russian market, after the departure of Western players, remains competitive but mature and largely focused around leaders such as Kaspersky.
This is important because BI.ZONE strives to build its own cybersecurity ecosystem, and the acquisition of NANO Security gives the company a strategic tool to enter the retail market and expand its line of corporate solutions, strengthening the domestic cybersecurity market.
