AvtoVAZ continues to develop the production of its new Lada Iskra model. Now, the car assembly has been launched at the plant in St. Petersburg. It is expected that several thousand cars will be produced in the northern capital this year.
The agreement on launching production at the St. Petersburg site was signed in June 2025. During this time, specialists carried out a comprehensive readjustment of equipment, its partial modernization, as well as personnel training and optimization of logistics processes. In the summer, 200 Iskra car kits were sent from Togliatti to St. Petersburg, which were used to test all technological processes and quality control.
President of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov stated that the cars assembled in St. Petersburg are completely identical to those produced in Togliatti.
At the "Avtozavod St. Petersburg", which was previously the Russian Nissan plant where the Qashqai and X-Trail models were produced, Lada Iskra car kits are now arriving. Each kit includes almost 1000 individual components, such as painted bodies, engines, interior elements, and chassis.
Our industrial partnership with "Avtozavod St. Petersburg" has entered an even more active phase. In the shortest possible time, we launched a new assembly project here, which uses the existing production facilities.
Retail sales of Lada Iskra started on July 20. The car occupies an intermediate position between Lada Granta and Lada Vesta and is offered in three body types: sedan, station wagon, and cross-station wagon. It is equipped with two 1.6-liter engines with a capacity of 90 and 106 hp, as well as three types of transmissions: 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, and CVT. Prices for Lada Iskra range from 1.25 to 1.8 million rubles.
