Работы по сбору мазута с морского дна у берегов Анапы завершились

More than 22 thousand bags of oil products were collected after the crash of the "Volgoneft" tankers

Work on collecting fuel oil from the seabed off the coast of Anapa and Temryuk district has been completed. This was reported by the Kuban operational headquarters on Friday morning, September 17.

From September 10 to September 17, divers at the pier in the village of Dzhemete raised the last 443 bags with oil products. In total, specialists made 21,591 dives and collected 22,451 bags of fuel oil weighing over two thousand tons. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Kuban-SPAS rescue team and the Marine Rescue Service participated in the work.

Underwater work was carried out in 19 sections, with a length of almost 14 kilometers, including the coastal zones of Anapa, Dzhemete, Vityazevo, as well as the villages of Veselovka, Volna and Artyushchenko in the Temryuk district. Fuel oil was collected manually and with the help of ejector units.

In Crimea, 908 tons of sand with fuel oil were collected after the crash of the "Volgoneft" tankers in the Kerch Strait in December 2024. Then, during the storm, "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" crashed, carrying more than 9 thousand tons of fuel oil, about 4 thousand tons of which ended up in the sea.

The incident led to the introduction of a state of emergency in Anapa, the closure of beaches for swimming and a 70% drop in tourist flow. Rosprirodnadzor filed lawsuits against the owners of the tankers for more than 84.9 billion rubles. In August, the court ordered the declared amounts to be recovered from the shipowner companies, and also seized the companies' accounts.
