The new BTR-22 of the Russian Armed Forces was "spotted" on the streets of Belarusian Grodno near the border with Poland during the "Zapad-2025" exercises.
The main difference between the new vehicle and the basic BTR-82A is the change in layout. Now the power compartment is located in the front of the hull on the right, and to the left of it is the control compartment with the driver's seat.
The troop compartment has been moved to the rear. The paratroopers are now seated in specialized seats with anti-traumatic properties. Embarkation and disembarkation are carried out through the stern.
The ballistic resistance of the hull provides all-round protection against 12.7x108mm B-32 armor-piercing bullets.
Improved mobility, maximum speed on the highway up to 100 km/h, which is 20 km/h higher than the base model.
