Сбербанк сообщил о резком росте мошенничества с аккаунтами «Госуслуг»

Attackers demand codes from SMS and request money transfers to a "safe account"

Sberbank has reported a sharp increase in fraudulent activity related to the theft of accounts on the "Gosuslugi" (Government Services) platform, according to Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the bank's Executive Board.

The fraudsters' scheme consists of several stages. First, the attackers make mobile phone calls posing as representatives from management companies, housing and communal services, polyclinics, delivery services, or the tax office. They ask the victim to provide a code from an SMS message, supposedly to confirm a service. Then, the victim receives a fake message about logging into "Gosuslugi," or they receive calls from alleged service employees claiming that the account has been hacked and that there is a threat of money being transferred to support "terrorists" or foreign armed groups. People are persuaded to urgently "save" their funds by transferring them to a "safe account." Under psychological pressure, the victims follow the instructions of the attackers.

Kuznetsov emphasized that many Russians continue to believe in these schemes. "We promptly identify and stop suspicious transfers. Sometimes, the help of relatives or the police is needed to remove a person from the influence of fraudsters," he noted.

The bank advises never to share codes from SMS messages, regardless of who is calling. If there is any doubt or fear, contact a bank branch or MFC (Multifunctional Center) to check the security of the account and the status of funds. It is also recommended to enable the "Caller ID" service in the Sberbank Online application and the "Close By" service to monitor the financial transactions of elderly relatives or children.
