Serial production of Be-200 aircraft with PD-8 engines may begin in 2028, according to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Anton Alikhanov, during a working trip to the Beriev TANTK in Taganrog, Rostov Region.
According to him, the company is currently actively working on the re-engining of the Be-200. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is funding the development work.
I hope that this work will be completed in 2027. If a positive result is obtained following the completion of the R&D, we will begin production of the serial machine in 2028.
Acting Governor of the Rostov Region, Yuri Slyusar, previously approved plans for the technical "re-equipment" of enterprises, which will increase the production volumes of Be-200 aircraft.
The PD-8 turbofan engine has a thrust of 8 tons and was created for the "Superjet" and Be-200 using advanced technologies and new Russian materials. The experience of creating the PD-14 engine is actively used in the work.
