Russia could transfer Tu-160 strategic bombers "White Swan" to Venezuela. This opinion was given by the authors of Military Watch Magazine (MWM).
There is a possibility that Caracas' long-time strategic partner may deploy strategic aviation assets in the country.
Journalists recalled that Russia first transferred the Tu-160 to Venezuela in 2008 to participate in joint exercises. Later, the aircraft arrived in the South American state in 2013 and 2018.
The Tu-160 was developed in the USSR as a response to the appearance of the American supersonic strategic Rockwell B-1 Lancer, but the domestic machine surpassed it in firepower, size, and speed.
The Tu-160's arsenal includes Kh-47M2 Kinzhal cruise missiles, Kh-55, Kh-101, and guided munitions such as the KAB-1500.
