The Russian Be-200 amphibious jet aircraft should undergo flight tests during the re-engining from D-436 engines to domestic PD-8s. This was stated by Sergey Korotkov, Deputy General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec).
According to him, SJ-100 "Superjets" are already flying with PD-8 as part of certification, and the Be-200 has yet to go through this.
Work is currently underway to re-engine the Be-200 and SJ-100 based on PD-8 engines.
The PD-8 dual-circuit engine has a thrust of 8 tons and was created for the Superjet and Be-200 using advanced technologies and new Russian materials. The experience of creating the PD-14 engine is actively used in the work.
The Be-200 amphibious aircraft is produced at the facilities of the Beriev Tagantrog Aviation Scientific-Technical Complex.
