Kronshtadt Marine Plant of the United Shipbuilding Corporation is starting scheduled repairs and preparation for the annual survey of the sea railway-automobile ferry "Baltiysk", one of the largest ferries in Russia, which is carried out by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
USC specialists will repair ship technical equipment and hull structures, maintain main and auxiliary internal combustion engines, as well as ship auxiliary mechanisms.
Also, specialists from the "Kronshtadt Marine Plant" will prepare the ferry for the annual survey by inspectors of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, USC notes.
In recent years, the ferry "Baltiysk" regularly runs between Ust-Luga and Baltiysk, the vessel is considered one of the largest cargo ferries in Russia. Its length is 186.5 meters, width is 21.6 meters, and draft is 6.5 meters. The ship is specially designed for the transportation of railway cars and ro-ro equipment. Up to 150 vehicles can be accommodated on three cargo decks, each of which is equipped with five railway tracks. In addition, there are cabins for 12 passengers accompanying the cargo on board.
