Дептранс опроверг новость о введении платы за проезд по столичным дорогам

The development of the Moscow road network is carried out according to a different scheme — concessions

The Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of Moscow has denied information about the possible introduction of tolls on all roads in the city. The corresponding statement was made in response to a request from Autonews.ru.

The press service of the department reported that the Department of Transport had not received any initiatives to expand the network of toll roads. Currently, there are only two toll highways in Moscow: Bagration Avenue and the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD).

The department noted that the development of the road network is carried out according to a different scheme — concessions. Within the framework of this model, it is planned to build new facilities, including the highway from Leningradskoye Highway to 3rd Magistralnaya Street and the highway from Trofimova Street to Sevastopolsky Prospekt.

The reason for the journalists' request was a statement by Mikhail Blinkin, a member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Transport of Russia. Earlier, he suggested that a payment system per kilometer of mileage could be introduced in Moscow to combat traffic jams.

The Department of Transport commented that the experience of operating Bagration Avenue shows a steady demand from motorists, despite the current tariffs.
