A new suburban diesel train TEP70BS has been presented at Russian Railways. It is equipped with "push-pull" technology. The train includes a TEP70BS diesel locomotive and a head car of an electric train, as well as non-motorized cars. Control is possible from the locomotive cab or from the head car, depending on the direction of travel. The design speed is 120 km/h.
The train is designed for operation on non-electrified sections with variable passenger traffic. The train is formed from 2 to 6 cars; in a six-car configuration, there are 636 standard seats and 2 places for transporting a passenger in a wheelchair.
The train cars are equipped with climate control, comfortable seats with USB connectors, places for bulky luggage and bicycles, a lift and fasteners for wheelchairs, and a spacious bathroom adapted for passengers with limited mobility.
