The United Engine Corporation (UEC) presented about serial and experimental parts of gas turbine engines created using 3D printing at the Technoprom international forum in Novosibirsk. Among them was a high-power turbine swirler for the GTD-110M.
This combustion chamber part has a complex geometry, including developed internal surfaces and channels, and is made of nickel alloys using 3D printing.
Aviation parts have a complex shape, and they can only be obtained as a single structure using the additive method. The components are installed not only on aviation engines, but also on industrial engines.
GTD-110M is a single-rotor turboshaft engine developed by specialists from PJSC Inter RAO UES, Gas Turbine Technologies, and Rostec. The power unit is manufactured at UEC-Saturn in Rybinsk. The first industrial GTD-110M was installed in 2024 at the Udarnaya TPP.
