Деньги не вернулись: появилась новая схема мошенничества под видом тестирования платежного терминала

In Moscow, a store director transferred 60 thousand rubles from his personal account to a fraudster after a phone call

In Moscow, a store director transferred 60 thousand rubles from his personal account to a fraudster after a phone call. The unknown person introduced himself as a specialist from the company servicing the bank terminal and, under the pretext of checking it, convinced him to make a transfer. This is reported by representatives of law enforcement agencies.

The fraudster called the store and was initially connected to the administrator. After that, he asked to be put through to the manager, which gave the call a semblance of officialdom.

The fraudster announced the need to urgently conduct a "terminal test." He convinced the director to transfer funds to the specified bank card, promising that the amount would automatically return to the account within 15–20 minutes. For the sake of appearing legitimate, he also asked to send a transfer receipt via a file-sharing service. The money did not return to the account. According to preliminary data, the scheme worked due to the creation of a sense of urgency and the use of an element of official subordination. Stores do periodically interact with the technical services of acquiring companies, which reduced the vigilance of the victim.

Currently, a criminal case has been opened on the fact of fraud. Law enforcement agencies are conducting operational search activities to identify those involved in the incident. Financial experts recommend that employees of retail outlets independently call their banks or technical support services at official numbers to confirm any such requests.
