The sun continues to emit flares one after another: 10 events have already been recorded

Activity continues to grow rapidly on the star

A sharp increase in activity is recorded on the Sun: ten flares have occurred over the past day, three of which reached level M. This is reported by the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of IKI and ISZF RAS.

According to scientists, the latest M1.3 class flare was recorded at 18:18 Moscow time on the eastern edge of the star in a group of spots hidden behind the horizon. Due to this position, part of the radiation is blocked by the solar disk, and the real power of events may be higher than recorded.

Until the active region completely enters the visible part of the Sun, accurate estimates of its size and energy are impossible. This makes forecasting for the coming days difficult. At the moment, the impact of solar activity on Earth is minimal.

Scientists note that the coming days will be decisive: if the number and strength of flares do not decrease, magnetic storms are likely in the second half of the week.
