Women are using electric scooters more actively, MTS Urent says

The share of women among scooter riders has increased from 25% to 38%

Women have become more active in using electric scooter rentals, while violating traffic rules five times less often than men. This was reported by the press service of MTS Urent.

The share of women among users has grown from 25% in 2024 to 38% in the first half of 2025. Men make up 62% of the audience. The majority of clients are young people aged 18–34, but the number of riders over 40 has reached 20%. Women commit less than 15% of recorded violations and are involved in less than 13% of accidents.

More than 91% of trips follow the "transport scenario" — moving around the city. Women are more likely to use scooters instead of public transport, completing the entire route, such as "work — home" or "store — home", mainly in the evening. Men are more likely to use scooters for the "last mile" — from the transport stop to the destination.

Among users, 44% are married and have children. Most often, these are specialists in IT, economics, and law, and the proportion of medical and education workers is growing. For 38% of clients, the scooter replaces a personal car or transport, and almost half prefer it even when they have a car, considering it convenient and fast for short trips.
