The import-substituted MC-21-310 experimental aircraft, equipped with domestic systems and PD-14 engines, has made 19 flights in Zhukovsky near Moscow as part of certification tests. This was reported by the Rostec State Corporation.
In total, the aircraft spent 74 hours in the air. A second aircraft will soon join the program. The machine is preparing for its first flight in Irkutsk.
Rostec explained that when another MC-21 participates in the tests, certification will proceed faster.
The required number of flights and flight hours will be distributed between two machines. This path must be fully completed to guarantee safety and reliability.
The import-substituted MC-21-310 received a Russian avionics complex, a domestic auxiliary power unit, air conditioning and pressure regulation systems, lighting equipment, and aircraft system control panels. In total, more than 70 Russian components were introduced into the aircraft.
