UAZ has announced the expansion of its production. Now, the company will independently produce not only safety systems (airbags, steering wheels, and seatbelts) but also electronic engine control units. This was announced by the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region, Alexey Russkikh.
By the end of this year, a new safety system production facility will open at the UAZ site... And another unique production facility for engine control units. There are practically no such production facilities in Russia. And it was precisely the absence of engine control units in 2022, when sanctions were imposed, that limited the output of assembly lines at automobile plants in the Russian Federation.
According to Alexey Russkikh, the company will soon release a new pickup model. It also became known that the assembly line for Sollers pickups at UAZ is capable of producing about 20,000 vehicles per year. This figure is twice the previously stated capacity.
