The heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser (TARK) "Admiral Nakhimov" of Project 11442M will begin sea trials in August-September, according to a source in the defense industry complex.
Currently, the ship is in the preparation stage for going to sea for testing.
All systems, units, and equipment are being checked. A delivery team is being prepared. The ship's departure for testing is scheduled for August-September, depending on readiness.
The cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov" has been under repair since 1999. Actual work on it has been carried out since 2013. The main result of the modernization is the strengthening of the cruiser's strike power.
The ship will carry, in particular, 10 shipborne firing systems for 8 Kalibr-NK and/or Onyx cruise missiles each.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that "Uralvagonzavod" presented a new version of the T-72B3M with protection against drones in the front of the tank.
