The head of the Russian government, Mikhail Mishustin, in a conversation with the head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, touched upon the topic of creating domestic aircraft and recalled the time of the USSR, which, without outside assistance, produced all the necessary components for its aircraft.
Chemezov noted that there is currently no country in the world that is able to fully provide itself with components for aircraft. According to him, the largest aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing, use about nine large companies around the world as suppliers of necessary components.
Mishustin, for his part, noted that in the Soviet Union the localization of aircraft production was complete.
The development of aviation technologies is of strategic importance for economic growth and the country's security.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec was instructed to reduce the cost of the MS-21 and SJ-100: advantages over Boeing and Airbus are needed.
