Pobeda Airlines (a subsidiary of PJSC Aeroflot) has announced the dimensions for hand luggage, which are determined based on safety and accessibility principles.
The dimensions for carrying hand luggage are recommended by the manufacturer of our aircraft — Boeing — and are calculated based on dividing the volume of the Boeing-737-800 luggage racks by the number of passenger seats.
Dmitry Tyshchuk emphasized that baggage size restrictions are characteristic of the low-cost model, where passengers can choose only the services they actually need. He also added that Pobeda's hand luggage sizes (36x30x27 cm) exceed those of foreign low-cost carriers.
Pobeda aircraft spend up to 18 hours a day in the sky, which reduces costs and allows us to offer customers more tickets at competitive prices.
Tyshchuk also noted that the efficiency of Pobeda's business model is achieved through short turnaround times — only 25 minutes between flights.
Over 10 years of operation, the airline has managed to keep fares at 50–60% of the average market rate. Currently, Pobeda ranks second in terms of passenger traffic in Russia and serves more than 100 destinations, half of which are regional. On 15 routes, the airline remains the sole carrier.
Earlier, the Shcherbinsky Court of Moscow ordered Pobeda Airlines to increase the permissible hand luggage allowance. According to the prosecutor's office, the airline created the appearance of choice for passengers, but in reality, the dimensions of hand luggage were minimal. This deprived passengers of the opportunity to use free baggage allowance.
