The large anti-submarine ship (ASW) "Admiral Levchenko" of the Northern Fleet (Project 1155) conducted a battle with a mock enemy in the Barents Sea during the Navy's "July Storm" exercises. This was reported by the fleet's press service.
The sailors attacked visible and concealed coastal targets on the coast of the Rybachy Peninsula. The crew of the "Admiral Levchenko" practiced air defense with firing from the Kinzhal naval anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) and the AK-100 artillery system. The military personnel also set up interference and false targets using electronic warfare systems.
It is worth mentioning that the "July Storm" exercises are taking place from July 23 to 27 in the waters of the Pacific and Arctic Oceans, the Baltic and Caspian Seas. More than 150 warships and support vessels are involved in the maneuvers.
