The Supreme Court of Tatarstan has announced the verdict in closed session in the criminal case of the former Deputy Head of Production of the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of Tupolev of Rostec) Fanzil Fatykhov, reports Realnoe Vremya.
The investigation concerned a contract for the production of new generation Tu-160M "White Swan" bombers in Kazan.
The defendant fully admitted his guilt in abuse of power, large-scale fraud and bribery, and entered into an agreement with the investigation.
The case of the KAZ manager was submitted to the court with a request for consideration in a special procedure. In addition, the materials were classified, since the circumstances of the crime relate to the execution of an order from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The court considered Fatykhov's case in four sessions and found the defendant guilty of bribery and fraud, sentencing him to 4.5 years in a strict regime colony, ordering him to be taken into custody in the courtroom.
