Rosatom scientists have completed the first stage of developing a digital twin of a radiochemical plant - the VIZART-RDM software package, which will help optimize spent nuclear fuel (SNF) reprocessing technologies and reduce the operating costs of nuclear facilities.
The development is being carried out by leading scientific organizations and enterprises of Rosatom with the participation of the "Science and Innovation" center and the Bochvar Institute.
The technological digital twin will also allow scientists to avoid time-consuming calculations and minimize the risk of errors in the implementation of real projects.
The system will simulate all stages of SNF reprocessing and radioactive waste management, including the composition of reagents, waste volumes, and operating parameters.
The next stage will be the development of the software itself.
