Russian military personnel armed an MT-LB tracked tractor with an MT-12 anti-tank gun. Footage of the improvised self-propelled artillery unit (SPG) has appeared online.
The photo shows a tractor, nicknamed "motolyga", with a gun mounted on the roof. There is a bracket in the front of the hull that allows the gun to be locked in the stowed position.
The upper part of the self-propelled gun on the MT-LB chassis is covered with a "mangal" to protect against drones, which is complemented by a camouflage net. The sides of the "motolyga" hull are also equipped with lattice screens. The structures increase the protection of the vehicle when hit by HEAT ammunition.
The 100 mm MT-12 allows engaging any targets at a range of over 8000 m. The ammunition load of the towed gun includes high-explosive fragmentation, armor-piercing discarding sabot, and HEAT rounds.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the flagship of the Russian Navy, the cruiser "Admiral Kuznetsov", may be scrapped.
