Russian military personnel have learned to use the fiber optic "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky" drone as a high-speed communication system. This was reported by Alexey Chadaev, General Director of the "Ushkuynik" Scientific and Production Center (SPC).
He recalled that the main purpose of the "Vandal" is a kamikaze drone.
One of the memorable cases is the non-trivial, completely unplanned use of the "Prince Vandal" by the developers. By its intended purpose, it is a kamikaze drone. But there have been several cases when an assault group took a strong point, threw our drone there without a warhead, removing the media converter from there and sticking an ordinary Wi-Fi router. As a result, the fighters received a gigabit of mobile Internet in a new location.
The FPV drone with control via fiber optic cable "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky" was developed at the "Ushkuynik" SPC in 2024. Thanks to the technology, the drone is practically not affected by electronic warfare equipment.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia is launching the Il-114-300 to replace the An-24: regional aviation is gaining support.
