The aircraft plant in Tatarstan will start building two workshops for the production of necessary composite products

Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of PJSC Tupolev) plans to build two new production facilities - a foundry and a plant for the production of composite materials. The Business Online publication explained why this is critical for the construction of Tu-214 aircraft.

The authors of the material clarified that the corresponding workshops have long existed at KAZ, without their products the production cycle is impossible. But at the same time, they did not get into two ongoing modernization programs at the enterprise on military and civil topics, in accordance with which everything is being updated at KAZ.

The idea did not come from a good life, now the fate of the Tu-214 program depends on the implementation of these two projects.

Now the plant makes one aircraft per year, we are told that it will build 10–20, but without new foundries and a composite workshop this is impossible. If these issues are not resolved, the Tu-214 as it was not, so it will not be.

The construction of enterprises implies new financial investments in KAZ, we can talk about at least 10 billion rubles. Tupolev declined to comment on the situation.
