Mass production of the newest Russian aircraft, the MC-21, should start no later than December 2026. This was stated by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting on the aviation industry.
The MC-21 aircraft must be ready for mass launch no later than December 2026.
Mishustin emphasized the importance of ensuring that the aircraft's flight performance characteristics meet the parameters agreed upon with the airlines.
On Monday, at Zhukovsky Airport, the operation of onboard radio-electronic equipment was tested on an MC-21 aircraft with domestic systems and components. The aircraft spent 3.5 hours in the air.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that mass production of the PD-8 engine for the "Superjet" SJ-100 will begin in 2025.
