The All-Russian student construction project of the BREST-300 reactor, which is the world's first closed nuclear fuel cycle project, has started in Seversk, Tomsk Region. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Student Teams (RSO).
Students annually work on the construction of the unique BREST reactor — the world's first closed nuclear fuel cycle project, which makes their participation particularly significant for the development of the Russian nuclear industry.
The power unit with the innovative BREST-OD-300 reactor installation will become part of the pilot demonstration power complex with an on-site nuclear fuel cycle being built in Seversk. This project is being implemented as part of the strategic direction "Proryv", which aims to create a new technological platform for the nuclear industry, as well as to solve the problems of handling and storing spent nuclear fuel.
Earlier www1.ru reported that products for the innovative BREST-OD-300 reactor were created at ChMZ.
