MSU scientists have presented an innovative technology for protecting banknotes, securities, and works of art. It concerns luminescent labels. They can change colors depending on the conditions. They are almost impossible to counterfeit.
The new luminophores provide three levels of protection. The first is that individual elements applied with special paint change color under the influence of light with different wavelengths. A red element can turn green.
The second level of protection is activated by exposure to warm air, such as from a hair dryer, which also leads to a change in color. The third level is a reaction to chemicals, in which the color can change both reversibly and irreversibly.
This technology has already been tested and can be adapted to the needs of specific organizations. Scientists are confident that there are no analogues of this development in the world, which makes its protective properties unique and practically inaccessible for counterfeiting.
