A nameplate has been installed on the cruise liner "Nikolay Zharkov" (Project 00840 "Karelia"). The vessel is 80% ready, according to the ship's delivery manager, senior shipbuilder Sergey Umanets.
Work is currently being completed on the roof of the superstructure — as far as the hull is concerned, it is being carried out in the area of the sun deck and the funnel.
Shipbuilders at the "Krasnoye Sormovo" plant are installing parts for glazing. Window frames are being installed on the sun and boat decks.
The launch of "Nikolay Zharkov" is scheduled for July 11. Then mooring and sea trials will begin.
The series of liners is being built by order of the company "Vodohod" as part of the state program to renew the river fleet. "Nikolay Zharkov" is the lead vessel, laid down in April 2023, "Mikhail Zhvanetsky" in May 2023, and "Rasul Gamzatov" in June 2023.
