The State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) has accepted the Fort Obruchev catamaran, Project 04580, built at the St. Petersburg Shipbuilding Plant (SNSZ) under a state-funded program. The vessel is the fifth in a series of six Kotlin high-speed passenger catamarans, the company's press service reported.
The vessel was built at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant (part of USC) in St. Petersburg as part of GTLK's program for the development of water transport leasing with state funding, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
The catamaran is designed in Russia using predominantly domestic components. These vessels, with a capacity of up to 200 people, are intended to serve the passenger line between the center of St. Petersburg and the tourist and recreational cluster "Island of Forts." The Kotlin project aims to develop water transport and improve the accessibility of tourist sites in the region.
