The Russian Ministry of Defense refused to accept a batch of 9I56 gas turbine engines for the maintenance of Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), supplied to the head production and technical enterprise "Granit". The reason was the department's doubts about the originality of the products.
The supplier of the engines was the company "Meridian", which tried to challenge the refusal to accept them, but the Arbitration Court of Moscow on July 1 recognized the actions of the Ministry of Defense as legal. The decision has not yet entered into legal force, the company has a month to appeal.
The enterprise "Granit" concluded a contract with "Meridian" for the supply of a batch of 9I56, assuming that these would be products of PJSC "KADVI" ("Kaluga Engine").
However, an additional check revealed that engines with the specified serial numbers were not produced at the facilities of PJSC "KADVI". Military representative offices accredited both at the Kaluga plant and at "Granit" came to the conclusion that the products were not authentic and were manufactured at two other enterprises.
The company "Meridian" did not provide sufficient arguments in its favor during the proceedings.
