The Russian VK-800 turboprop engine for the light aircraft "Baikal" will receive certification in 2025, according to the Minister of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov.
We are continuing work on the "Baikal", on the certification of the new VK-800 engine, the new propeller. This year, this work — on the certification of the propeller and engine — should be completed.
The LMS-901 "Baikal" previously flew with the Czech-American General Electric H80-200 engine. The new 9-seater aircraft is intended to replace the Soviet-era An-2 aircraft on regional airlines.
