An agreement was signed at the XVI International IT Forum of BRICS and SCO countries between the government of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra and JSC "Satellite System \"Gonet\"" (part of Roscosmos). The main goal is to develop satellite communications for controlling unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in the region.
Yugra, covering more than 500 thousand square kilometers, faces challenges in logistics and communications, especially in remote areas. The implementation of the "Gonet" system will ensure reliable data transmission, drone location control, and real-time management.
Cooperation with the company will expand our capabilities for introducing unmanned technologies in Yugra using satellite communications.
Andrey Manoylo, General Director of Gonets, emphasized that satellite communication is critical for the operation of UAS, especially in areas with weak cellular network coverage.
The mobile satellite communication segment ensures ubiquitous coverage, which is especially important for solving problems in remote areas. Our company has unique developments in the field of satellite communications, including a compact modem for drones. The agreement with Yugra is aimed at testing technologies in real conditions and expanding the use of UAS in the region. In parallel, we are concluding a strategic partnership agreement with the Yugra UAS Infrastructure Operator to test subscriber equipment.
The company developed compact modems for integration into drones, which will allow testing technologies in real conditions of Yugra.
