Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Albert Karimov and General Director of PJSC "KAMAZ" Sergey Kogogin arrived at the SPIEF-2025 venue in a new generation Russian autonomous truck "Mayak-2". This was reported by the press service of the department.
The test drive participants shared their impressions. "Mayak-2" moved steadily along the M-11 highway even in adverse weather conditions. Kogogin and Karimov noted the increased level of automation of the truck. The heavy truck oriented itself on the road, and the driving mode was optimized.
"Mayak-2" is a modernized version of "Mayak-1", which was created on the basis of a sanction-resistant version of KAMAZ-54901.
"KAMAZ" is currently the only Russian manufacturer of highly automated vehicles based on a cargo chassis of its own production.
In 2025, the manufacturer will release an improved version of "Mayak-2.5". The pre-series modification of the "Mayak-3" truck will appear in 1.5-2 years.
