The director of the scientific center of the State Research Institute of Civil Aviation (GosNII GA), Alexander Fridlyand, admitted that he cannot give an exact forecast for the start of mass production of the MC-21 aircraft.
Mass production begins after the completion of testing. Therefore, it will be possible to predict only when we know about the completion of certification.
The aviator noted that sanctions against Russia add to the complexity of the MC-21, because it has to produce all the components on its own.
No country in the world makes aviation equipment alone. No one does it themselves, everyone does it in cooperation, but we don’t have it. This is a matter of sanctions.
Earlier www1.ru reported that 400 million rubles were allocated for the modernization of the Tu-214.
