The Russian government has amended the procedure for purchasing cars for state and municipal needs, with an emphasis on environmentally friendly modes of transport. According to the new rules, priority is given to electric vehicles and cars running on natural gas, while traditional gasoline and diesel cars can only be purchased in the absence of alternatives.
This decision is aimed at reducing harmful emissions and supporting domestic manufacturers of "green" transport. In particular, Russian companies such as KamAZ and AvtoVAZ are already developing lines of electric vehicles and gas models.
