State Duma deputies approved in the second reading a bill on changes in the indicators of the federal budget for 2025. Part of the amendments concerned the financing of the creation of civil aircraft.
In particular, 400 million rubles will be spent on modernizing aircraft communication units on special-purpose aircraft of the Tu-214 type, which are owned by Russia.
Rostec noted that in 2025, two Tu-214 aircraft will be delivered to Russian airlines. There is currently no situation on the market where an airline has contracted an aircraft and cannot wait for it, the state corporation emphasized.
At the beginning of 2022, the production of the Tu-214 at the Kazan Aviation Plant was "focused" on the production of limited series for special customers, but not passenger aircraft for airlines. This is due to the fact that carriers bought foreign aircraft.
