Russian company "Basalt" releases new version of "Alt Server" platform with improved security

The basic ALT 11 platform has received updates for DevOps, hybrid clouds, and corporate infrastructures

The company "Basalt" has released the "Alt Server 11.0" distribution, based on the ALT 11 platform. The new release includes two editions in one image — "Alt Server" and "Alt Domain", which simplifies deployment.

Key features of the new platform release:

  • Containerization: Docker, Podman, Kubernetes and Linux Container have been added, making the system suitable for DevOps and microservice architectures.
  • Samba AD 4.20: SMB3 encryption has been improved, authentication mechanisms have been refined, and operation in high-latency networks has been optimized.
  • Backup: Proxmox Backup Server 3.3.3 now supports automated installation and integration with Ceph.
  • PostgreSQL 17: The memory management system has been updated, and incremental copying has been added.
  • Security: OpenSSL 3.3.3 performance has been improved.

The distribution is available for free use by individuals, and commercial organizations can test it before purchasing a license. "Alt Server" 11.0 provides a complete set of tools for building a corporate infrastructure, including support for heterogeneous networks.
