Atomenergomash specialists have completed the first stage of pre-operational control of equipment at power unit No. 1 at the Rooppur NPP in Bangladesh. The energy facility is being built using Rosatom technology with VVER-1200 reactors.
The company's employees performed automated control of equipment and pipelines, checked the capacity of the emergency core cooling system, passive core flooding and the main circulation pipeline connecting the main equipment of the first circuit of the Rooppur NPP. The inspection is an important step before the physical start-up of power unit No. 1.
The second (final) stage of control is scheduled for July. Even more specialists will be involved.
In March, it became known that a trial run of the first power unit of the Rooppur NPP could take place by the end of 2025.
